Biography
Kristyl Nelson is a global operator, real estate developer, and institutional platform builder with more than two decades of experience executing complex developments across the United States, Caribbean, and emerging international markets.
As Co-Founder, President & Global COO of Kindah Enterprises, Kristyl serves as the operational architect behind the firm's entire development platform, overseeing development, construction, operations, investor relations, and execution across all active projects. She leads a global team of 100+ across multiple countries, ensuring every asset is delivered with institutional precision, accountability, and long-term value creation.
Building the Foundation Hospitality Operations, In 2006, Kristyl's career began on the ground in Negril, Jamaica, where she served on the senior leadership team of a beachfront boutique hotel, contributing to its Top 10 boutique hotel recognition on TripAdvisor for three consecutive years. Building on that operational foundation, she founded Kristyl's International Restaurant, which earned the #1 dining destination ranking in Negril on TripAdvisor. These early experiences gave Kristyl direct, ground-level mastery of hospitality operations, guest experience standards, and market positioning in the exact region where Kindah's flagship development is now being built.
That operational expertise translated directly into her next chapter. In the United States, Kristyl co-founded University for Kids, scaling it from a single location into a four-center early education company across Washington, DC, each reaching full enrollment and generating multi-million-dollar annual revenues. Simultaneously, she founded Plentii, a financial services firm delivering accounting systems, financial strategy, and operational infrastructure to business owners across multiple industries. Together, these ventures sharpened her ability to build scalable systems, lead high-performing teams, and manage complex multi-site operations capabilities that now sit at the core of Kindah's development execution model.
With operational and business-building experience established, Kristyl moved into direct real estate capital deployment, participating in 20+ multifamily acquisitions and development transactions across the Washington, DC region. This hands-on transactional experience across acquisitions, development structuring, and asset performance management built the disciplined investment framework she now applies at an institutional scale.
Leading at the institutional scale, Kindah Enterprises Today, each of those chapters converges in her role at Kindah Enterprises. Kristyl is currently leading the $260M development of High Life Resort & Spa, a 265-room, 24-villa luxury resort across 30 acres of active development on a 53-acre estate in Negril, Jamaica, alongside her team. Under her operational leadership, Kindah has reduced operational liabilities by over 40%, implemented scalable systems across markets, and built institutional-grade execution capabilities across a global team.
Her professional development has been shaped by rigorous, practitioner-focused training. She has studied Business, Commercial Real Estate, and Blockchain & Digital Assets through The Wharton School's executive and professional programs, bringing an analytically grounded perspective to complex development decisions. She also studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, informing her instinct for brand, design, and the guest experience standards that define luxury hospitality at scale.
She serves as a board member of Removing Borders Non-Profit and the Brighter Futures Foundation.
"Enduring value is built at the intersection of disciplined operations, cultural authenticity, and the willingness to execute when others only plan." Kristyl Nelson, Co-Founder, President & Global COO
